Michelle offers talk therapy in 3 modalities:
Face-to-face sessions can take place in the comfort of Michelle's practice room, in the security of your own home, or in a mutually agreed upon location.
It is imperative that face-to-face sessions create a sense of support and confidentiality.
Online video chat from the comfort of your own home.
Online video counselling requires you to have access to the internet via a smartphone, laptop or desktop computer that are video and audio enabled. Online video counselling means you can access face-to-face counselling from wherever is most convenient for you.
It is important that you find a quiet, private place where you feel comfortable to share your issues knowing you will not be disturbed.
Walk-and-talk: At times, it may be appropriate to enjoy the benefits of walking, nature and talk therapy, meeting at a set location (Northern Rivers NSW only). This only takes place once you have had at least one face-to-face intake counselling session and have discussed the pros and cons of walk-and-talk.
When you are immersed in nature and walking beside your counsellor without the need to face each other, you may feel more open to talking. Increased circulation and deeper breathing can decrease anxiety, thus helping your thought process.
This is not an exercise session, rather an easy pace that allows us both to continue talking. At times, we might sit on a bench to get a deeper appreciation of the nature around us or practice a new ‘tool’ such as breathing exercises or visualisation.
It is important to realise that our level of privacy differs in an outdoor setting and who we might pass on our way. While this is outside of the counsellor’s control, we can agree on strategies for dealing with such possibilities.
Each session is 55 minutes long and costs AU$100.
Cancellation fees do apply.
If, for some reason, you need to cancel or postpone your session, please give at least 24 hours’ notice, otherwise a cancellation fee will apply. Cancellation fee: ½ of your session fee (AU$45).
