A long awaited YES

Sometimes the right thing arrives at the right time.
Sometimes the right thing arrives at the right time.

I have been integrating Internal Family Systems (IFS) practices into my work for some time, and now I am almost at the end of my Level 1 training—with just four full online training days left.

But the journey to get here has been longer than I expected.

IFS training opportunities in Australia are limited. The process involves putting your name on a list and waiting to see if you’re offered a place.

For three years, I added my name to that list.

Each year brought a familiar cycle:

✨ The hope and excitement of “maybe this will be the year.”

✨ The anticipation of imagining what it would be like to deepen my learning.

✨ And then the disappointment when I wasn’t offered a place.

I noticed all the different parts of myself that showed up during that waiting.

The part that was eager to learn.

The part that felt impatient.

The part that wondered when my turn would come.

And the part that reminded me to trust the timing.

Earlier this year, the email finally arrived. I was in!

Then came another unexpected gift…

The training was being held just 25 minutes from my home. The first IFS level 1 training in Western Australia.

No interstate flights.

No accommodation costs.

No long travel days.

Just the beautiful opportunity to deepen my learning while still being connected to my everyday life.

IFS has taught me so much about approaching our inner worlds with curiosity and compassion.

The waiting wasn't wasted time.

The disappointment was part of the story.

The hope kept me connected to what mattered.

And arriving here now feels even more meaningful because of the journey it took to get here.

I’m so grateful for the continued learning that allows me to support others with greater depth, presence and compassion.

Four more training days to go… and I’m looking forward to every moment. 🤍
