Paradise VS Reality

Living somewhere beautiful doesn’t always mean life feels easy.

Places like the Dunsborough, Margaret River, Busselton regions offer so much—open space, ocean air, a slower rhythm, and a strong sense of community. There’s a natural beauty here that can feel deeply nourishing… and at times, even comforting.
And yet, life still unfolds in all its complexity.
We still carry stress, anxiety, grief, uncertainty and overwhelm—just as people do anywhere else. Quiet seasons can feel isolating. Distance from family or long-standing support networks can be felt more deeply. And the everyday pressures of work, relationships, finances and change don’t disappear simply because the surroundings are beautiful.
Sometimes, there can also be an unspoken pressure to feel like you should be okay… or even grateful all the time—because of where you live. That it should somehow be easier here.
Our inner world doesn’t always reflect what’s around us.
You can be surrounded by beauty and still feel unsettled. You can live near the ocean and still feel heavy. You can be part of a caring community and still feel alone at times.
None of that is wrong.
Whatever your experience is, is valid, just as it is. It doesn’t need to be compared, justified or measured against your surroundings.
There’s space for all of it—the light, the heaviness, the comfort, the discomfort, the in-between moments.
Your inner world matters, whatever you find there 🤍
